I watched my friend play song after song on the piano in sheer amazement. She is crazy to be able to make music like that even on the guitar. It makes me want to pick up the guitar again. I know I get frustrated easily and it seems like whatever point I actually got to on the guitar, I’m back at square one. But when I see people playing guitar especially worship guitar, it is sooooo coool. I just want to be able to play! I think we are going to have a jam sesh in the new year so that’ll be fun, but I should try to pick up the guitar again before then. Oh yeah, I also think that the main part of being able to play the guitar is being able to sing with it because often times just because you are playing the song, no one will know what song that is until you start singing or humming. It’s so different playing chords cause there seems to be no melody. At least that’s what I’ve gathered. Also, I’m not good at singing so its tough for me to do so. Well I guess I should just work on the guitar first and sing in my head first.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas for reals (well the day after). It was the birth of Jesus, who came down to earth, to be like one of us, so that He could give us the free gift of grace and everlasting life. I’ll admit that it’s hard to constantly reflect on or about Christmas day as the birth of Jesus Christ. With so many things going on the day of, it really takes my mind off the real meaning of Christmas. Then again, how do you celebrate Christmas for what it really is? I think it takes some time of reflecting and prayer. It’s also tough when not everyone that you spend Christmas with believes in the real meaning of it.
Also, my parents were watching a hong kong tv channel where they were asking people on the street why people celebrated Christmas. People had no idea! “to get presents” “because we can”. Interesting.

The Lakers were playing on Christmas day and every so often between breaks, there would be clips from NBA Cares. This is where you see celebrities working with children or doing things around the community. I wonder how this works. I wonder if they have an option of this NBA Cares thing and people who want to participate can or if it is more like a requirement to put on a good face. How many of the NBA players really care? I’m not saying that they don’t care, I’m just interested in knowing how many really do it because they want to.

Went shopping today. It was supposedly to be the second (if not biggest) shopping day of the year compared to black friday. Retailers are struggling hard to break even this year and they are desperate for sales. Stores had all kinds of crazy markdowns and people were everywhere! This is good for the people who have money to spend, bad for the stores because marking down things makes them lose a lot of money. Anyway, I brought this up for a reason, but now I can’t remember. Haha.

Merry Christmas! =D
Great Deal
I was at the mall last night and stopped by Aeropostale to see if they had anything good considering the sign at the door said that everything was 50-70% off. I was looking at the belts since they were marked at $5.99 and they are usually $16.50. I know I have tons of belts, but I kind of wanted a new khaki one. So I got one and went to pay and when it rang up it was for $0.99!!! I kept looking at the screen to see if I just missed the number in front. Then as the girl gave me my receipt she was like, that was only $1?!?!?!?! She was more amazed than I was. Anyway, it was a great deal!!! $1.07 for a new belt. Sweetness.
The Key to My Car
I was having trouble unlocking my car with my remote last week so I decided to just stop using it for fear of setting off my own alarm and looking like a thief again. Since I’ve done that, there is an actual possibility that I could lock my keys in the car. I wanted to prevent this from ever happening so I decided that I would always lock my car with my key. Funny thing is, you can’t do that!! I cannot lock my car with my key. Odd, I know. Maybe I’m just an idiot. You can only unlock the car with the key. Last night, I also found out that you can only unlock the car from the driver side door! I left something in my car last night so I went back out to get it and figured I could reach it better from the passenger side. It doesn’t work! It doesn’t unlock! Weird. So weird. I must try it all once again when I have some time. It can’t really be designed like that, can it?
Embarassing Moment of the Day
Walk to some mexican place for lunch, order my food, the lady tells me the price, open my purse to pull out my wallet. My wallet is not there! Crap! Think quickly back to where my wallet is…in my cleat bag from Ultimate. Tell the lady sorry and to hold on. Try to see if there is any money in my jeans. $2. Uh.. Ask her to cancel the order. Scan the menu to see what I can buy for $2. Large Green Sauce or Large Red Sauce. Uh. Leave the store quickly. Man! That’s newby. :( Call up my coworker, he lets me borrow some money. Order food from the same lady. How embarassing! I usually don’t forget things like that. When I leave the house I check for 3 things: keys, wallet, phone. Yeah, obviously failed on the wallet part. Haha.
Christmas Shopping
Christmas is less than a month away and I have no idea what to get anyone!!! It seems to get more and more difficult each year as people accumulate more and more things. Or, people are picky about things so you can’t really get it for them. I’m not to be excluded. Don’t ask me what I want for Christmas, because I really have no idea. =P
More Ramblings (Ranting)
- I don’t like how the office is always so cold. If it’s 100 degrees outside, it will be 60 inside. I’ll bring a jacket into the office if it is 100 degrees outside and then at lunch time I’ll forget that it is actually hot and wear the jacket out the door and have everyone look at me like I’m insane. It was actually cooler outside today and of course the office is even colder! I forgot my jacket today. :(
- Politics are very interesting. Specifically when people assume your stance on politics when they have absolutely no idea. Dumb.
- I am really really disliking how it gets dark so early. I like daylight!
- I jammed my finger AGAIN. The same one. Sucks.
And after I wrote all this – I just realized that this is a ranting post not a rambling one. ;)
Ramblings
- I couldn’t sleep the other night because all I could think about was football. I can’t believe the tourney is in 3 weeks. 3 weeks! Yikes.
- I bought a how to draw cartoon animals book. I like drawing even though I’m not that good at it.
- Daylight Savings – no more daylight :( I like daylight. Sad times.
- Can’t believe the holidays are coming up. Time to gift shop though I’m bad at it.
- Mervyn’s and Linen-n-Things is closing. That means great deals! Time to shop even more.
It’s All About the Game…Apparently
It was a playoff game, win and we go to the championship, lose and we go home and try again next season. The game was close the first half, then we got tired. They had 8 people, we only had 5. They were quick, we were not. And slowly they pulled away. We were tired.
I could tell that the girl on our team was getting frustrated. She was good at basketball. She started to mutter things and she tried to take the ball down and shoot each time, on her own. The game ended. People were pissed. And one by one each left without saying goodbye. No see you later. No see you next season. No good job. Just gone.
It was like wow, what kind of team are we? We are not friends. We don’t know anything about each other or seem to care. It was pretty sad. I mean, when it comes down to it, does it really matter that we lost? I mean it sucks, but we’re all still people and people should care about each other or at least act in a civilized manner. No one needs to be excessively friendly, but it doesn’t hurt to acknowledge each other.
Ramblings
I should try to write more in my blog whether or not I deem it “good reading material”, at least it will be something.
I saw this sign at someone’s desk at work today: “Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part.” I love it. So true, so true.
Another guy I know has his last day at work tomorrow. He got laid off. I don’t know him well, but I know him enough to chit chat. He emailed everyone to say that he was leaving and included a few verses in there. And I was thinking woah, is he a Christian? I didn’t know that. That’s pretty neat. And so I bumped into him on my way out today and I asked him if he was. It’s amazing, it’s almost like there is this instant connection to someone when you meet them and find out they share the same beliefs as you. Pretty cool.
