Beach Palooza

A bunch of us drove up to Long Beach this past weekend for the Beach Palooza.  Let me tell you, running on soft sand majorly sucks.  Not that I really trained hard for this 5K obstacle course but we did want to make an attempt to complete it in a somewhat reasonable time.  The last 5k obstacle course we did was Warrior Dash where we clocked in a slow time due to the fact that everyone waited for everyone.  Haha.  This time around we wanted to make an attempt.  I think my “training” went as far as running maybe once a month on average.  The most I had run in one duration was roughly 2.7 miles.  But man, running on the soft sand was so hard!  I couldn’t do it for very long at all.  And the obstacles were so far apart and then they weren’t even as cool or fun.  Boo.  I gave Beach Palooza pretty bad reviews in their survey, haha.  But it was still fun to just hang out with everyone, get a pineapple hat, and t-shirt.

I also bumped into 2 people from high school that I haven’t seen since…high school.  Random!

I should probably keep up with some running but its going to be hard.

And I’m really only blogging about this so I can look back and remember what I did in 2011.  Haha.

Overused

Overused…

“We’re close…” – referring to “close to being done/complete.”

“It’s a simple integration” – it’s never simple.

“We’re onboard” – of course you are…

Never Satisfied Flaw

Sometimes I feel like God answers prayers in ways we can’t imagine.  We have this idea in our head of what we’re seeking or pray for things to happen but when the prayer is answered it doesn’t always fit into how we wanted it to be answered or expected it to be answered.

Never satisfied right?  How sad is that.  I’ve had a prayer, maybe two, answered recently and I’m thankful but I’m also like…BUT…what about this…or what about that.  My prayer was answered yet I am not fully satisfied – why?  Geez, makes me feel so demanding, needy, and ungrateful even though I should be really happy because God hears me.

What a horrible flaw…never satisfied.

I need to trust more and allow God to take control of things.

Thoughts of Late

  • Go to business school FT
  • Go somewhere else
  • Start a business somehow
    • Start something new – have not thought of yet
    • Build a website to sell something – what should I sell?
Life sucks.

Cooking

I like cooking. I actually miss cooking. I used to cook so many different kinds of things and it was so fun! I had the sudden urge to eat/cook steak the other night so I invited myself over to MOL’s house to cook. :) Thanks for letting me cook, haha.

I like to think of how to cook things in my head a lot. Things I used to make:

  • Chicken Marsala (not to be confused with Chicken Masala)
  • Pasta Bake Thing
  • Salmon – different kinds
  • Different crockpot items – chili, shredded pork for tacos, coca cola meatballs
  • Sweet & Spicy Wings
  • Different types of pasta

Man, I miss it.  I also like to try cooking new things.
